The ParentLearn program is designed to assist parents who have been unable to finish their high school education the traditional way. This free program is a chance to complete their diploma and learn valuable parenting techniques. The program combines high school education courses through ICC with Nurturing Parenting, a program that emphasizes positive interactions with their children.
Parents who are sixteen or older, wish to work on their High School Diploma, and have a preschool child are eligible to enroll in ParentLearn.
Childcare is free for children ages six weeks – Pre-K. A nutritious lunch and enriching activities are provided for the children.
Transportation is available free of charge for students with no or unreliable transportation.
“ParentLearn has been the best thing for me and my kids. It has helped me so much in such a short time. Without this program, I doubt I would have been able to succeed in getting my (high school) diploma. Janice is amazing, patient and kind. She has always been so helpful and kind. I am also very grateful for Nancy and her parenting class. The class has taught me so much about myself, my kids, and how to parent them. I really value all of her (Nancy) advice and guidance.
The daycare workers are AMAZING! I am so thankful for this program and everyone who has helped me and my kids. This program is great!”Karen Bailey
“Amazing and a great help to me, my family, and a better future.”Jacob Jolly
“It has been such a blessing to me. I tried to go back to school several times before my son was born, but never stuck with it. Having the option to attend a school where daycare is provided in the same building was great. The daycare teachers were amazing with my son. MotherLearn (currently ParentLearn) has helped me, not only finish my high school diploma, but also get started with college. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for all of the great staff!”Biannca Wood
